KLIMAPOLIS and São Paulo Citylab Workshop
Second project meeting in Hamburg
The 2nd KLIMAPOLIS and São Paulo Citylab workshops were held at the HafenCity University and Climate Service Center Germany (GERICS) in Hamburg, Germany, on 17-21 December 2018.
About 40 German and Brazilian partners participated in the two workshops including Lola Kotova, Gaby Langdenijk, Steffen Bender, Maria Manez, Joerg Cortekar, Peter Hoffmann and Bettina Steuri from GERICS.
Several talks were given to present the regional urban and air quality modelling, climate services development, air pollution and vulnerability studies in São Paulo. A working session on climate services needs for cities was implemented and potential climate services developments were discussed. Participants also exchange ideas about potential areas for interdisciplinary case studies in São Paulo, as well as a mapping of stakeholders involved in air quality and hydrological issues in the city. Strategic discussions for a joint German-Brazilian Institute on urbanisation also happened, with views for long term partnerships and activities.
