The conference series has been organised since 2006, this year for the sixth time. The platform brings together government representatives and other stakeholders such as NGOs, civil society organisations, local governments and private sector representatives from around the world. In numerous sessions, working groups, roundtable discussions and side events, participants will discuss how sustainable development can be strengthened through effective disaster and climate risk management.
The conference will focus on how coping with disaster risks and securing risk-oriented development investments can bring long-term social, environmental and economic benefits.
In the working session "National Disaster Risk Reduction strategies and climate NAPs" Daniela Jacob will give a talk on "IPCC SR1.5 - Challenges and Reasons for Action" at an event entitled "Ensuring Coordination in the Development and Implementation of National DRR Strategies and National Adaptation Plans (NAPs)", which will be followed by a detailed discussion.
