"Climate Adaptation Week 2022" (12 to 16 September)
GERICS invites you to the "Open House Week"

From 12 to 16 September 2022, the nationwide "Climate Adaptation Week" will take place for the first time, organised jointly by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) and the Climate Adaptation Centre. The motto is "Together for Climate Adaptation", with the aim of bringing more attention to risk prevention against the consequences of climate change in Germany and increasing the visibility of well-functioning practical examples. In addition to some scientific contributions to this series of events, GERICS scientists will be available to answer questions and present current results from their work to interested stakeholders directly on site in the Chilehaus as part of an "open week".
With over 200 events and activities nationwide, the "Climate Adaptation Week" is the largest series of events on the topic in Germany to date, aimed at a wide range of stakeholders and practical partners such as municipalities, social institutions, authorities, associations, universities, clubs and companies. The series of events, which will be opened by Federal Environment Minister Steffi Lemke on 12 September 2022, is intended to make the commitment of the various actors in the field of climate adaptation visible and to highlight the potentials, solution paths and products provided by science.
GERICS will also be ready to present its wide range of prototype products and services, current research results on climate adaptation and in-house experts for questions and discussions with institutional stakeholders on various aspects of climate adaptation. The topics and contact persons at GERICS that have been focussed on so far in the framework of the "Climate Adaptation Week" can be found in the following overview, which is constantly being expanded.
