Supporting Africa’s development to increase its resilience to the impacts of climate change
The exchange of knowledge about climate risks and the co-development of climate services for coping with and adapting to climate impacts is a key prerequisite for climate-resilient development. This is especially true for the particularly vulnerable regions in the Global South, such as in Africa.
In this overview article, GERICS researchers present a number of examples of sound data-based GERICS activities in different African regions to illustrate the various aspects that need to be taken into account when supporting local communities in shaping a - always participatory - path towards climate resilience.
